The project PHAROS aims to overcome the current limitation of visible light photocatalysis to radical chemistry and extend its use to carbon nucleophiles. Methods are being developed that make multiple photons and multiple electrons available for synthesis chemistry. The chemical models aim to use two photons and two electrons, enabling chemical reactions with visible light that previously required the use of highly reactive metals.
